 Community Involvement Activities

TDC partnered with the UAB Minority Health & Health Disparities Research Center and Living Church Ministries to provide Walk up Covid 19 Testing for Titusville and surrounding neighborhoods.   At this time testing was only available through drive thru in many areas. This provided testing opportunity for people who may not have been able to meet drive thru protocol.

Titiusville Development Corporation has a rich history of community activities. The organization was conceived from the notion of convening stakeholders of the community for the purpose of making it a better community. Community Programs Include:

• Senior Affordable Housing Development in partnership with the City of Birmingham, HUD and Jefferson County Department of Senior Citizens

• Annual Titusville Day Community Event sponsored through collaboration with local businesses, State of Alabama Tourism, City of Birmingham, Birmingham City Council, Birmingham Police Department, and local churches.

• Through a partnership with Meals on Wheels, homebound seniors are provided one meal 5 days a week.

• Food pantry that provides a monthly distribution of groceries to 175 local low-income families through a partnership with the United Way Community Food Bank.

• Repurposing abandoned lots to neighborhood amenities (Triangle Park, Titusville Community Garden, Titusville Fruit Orchid)

• Sponsoring neighborhood cleanups
